Valheim beehives & sap
A beehive makes 1 Honey every 20 minutes, holding up to 4, in the Meadows, Black Forest or Plains with open sky around it. A Birds' Nest makes Feathers the same way. A Sap Extractor on an Ancient Root in the Mistlands fills 1 Sap every minute, up to 10, until the root runs dry.

Right biome, open skyIt only works in the Meadows, Black Forest or Plains, and only while less than 60% of the space around it is covered. Under a roof or against walls it makes nothing and tells you it needs more free space.
Day and night, even while you’re awayIt keeps filling at night (only the bees go to sleep) and while nobody is near; the time away is added when the area loads again, up to its 4.
Harvest takes everythingUsing it drops all it holds at once. The resource world modifier multiplies each one.

A beehive needs Queen Bee to build.
Break a wild beehive: it always drops 1–3 Honey and 1 Queen Bee. Wild beehives are found in 
Abandoned Farm,

Sap and the Sap Extractor
The extractor must be built on an Ancient Root, which grows in the Mistlands.

The root holds 50 sapEach sap the extractor takes comes out of the root, which refills 1 every 6 minutes 40 seconds: 5 hours 33 minutes from dry to full. Extractors on the same root share it.
Fast, then slowA full root fills an extractor at 1 every minute. Below 5 the extractor says it is draining slowly, and from then on it only gets what the root refills.
Reading the root“The ancient root is pulsating with energy” above 40, “The ancient root's glow is fading” above 5, and “The ancient root seems all dried up” below that.
Full means stoppedA full extractor takes nothing from the root until you empty it, and the time it sat full is not made up.

Why is my beehive not making honey?
It is in the wrong biome (it needs the Meadows, Black Forest or Plains) or too covered: less than 60% of the space around it may be blocked, so keep it out from under roofs and away from walls. At night the bees sleep but honey still builds.
